HumiTel™ — MSD Tracking & Humidity Monitoring Software (Meets J-STD-033)

Barcode-driven floor-life tracking, shipping monitors, and wireless humidity sensors

Overview

A Full Suite of MSD Control Solutions

HumiTel™ is a complete suite of hardware and software solutions designed to track and monitor Moisture-Sensitive Devices (MSD). It covers every stage of MSD management, from automated floor tracking and J-STD-033B compliance on the production floor to environmental monitoring during shipping and storage.

The system replaces error-prone hand-written labels and manual logs with barcode-driven software and sensor hardware, giving engineering and quality teams accurate, real-time data on MSD status at every point in the process. For humidity-controlled storage with built-in MSD tracking, see the Smart Dry Box.

MSD Control Software

Automated MSD Tracking: Replace Hand-Written Notes with Barcodes

HumiTel™ MSD Control Software automates the tracking of moisture sensitive components using barcodes, replacing the hand-written notes on component labels that are the primary source of MSD tracking errors. Client and server software work together to maintain a complete record of every component's floor-life status.

The system monitors temperature and humidity via sensors throughout the facility and logs every transaction: receipt, removal from dry storage, return, and disposal. All data is maintained in compliance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.

An optional integration with BarTector™ adds a hardware interlock that prevents a placement machine from loading a component whose floor life has expired. This closes the loop between MSD tracking and placement verification.

Barcode-Driven Tracking

Scan in, scan out, with no manual logging. Every MSD transaction is recorded automatically against the component's unique ID.

J-STD-033B Compliance

Floor-life timers, bake calculations, and storage rules enforced automatically per IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.

Sensor-Based Monitoring

Temperature and humidity sensors throughout the facility feed live data into the system, ensuring environmental conditions are logged alongside floor-life events.

HumiTel™ MSD Shipping Monitor — desiccant indicator insertion

MSD Shipping Monitor

Verify Desiccant Effectiveness During Transport

The HumiTel™ MSD Shipping Monitor is designed to verify that the desiccant inside moisture barrier bags is performing correctly during storage and transport. The device is inserted into the bag alongside the components and logs environmental conditions for the full duration of transit.

An internal data logger records up to 20,000 data points at a user-defined time interval, providing a complete humidity and temperature history that can be reviewed on arrival to confirm the integrity of the shipment.

  • Verifies desiccant effectiveness inside moisture barrier bags
  • Internal data logger holds up to 20,000 data points
  • User-defined logging interval
  • Provides full environmental history on receipt
  • Confirms shipment integrity before opening bags

Dry Environment Monitor

Wireless Humidity Monitoring Up to 150 Feet

The HumiTel™ Dry Environment Monitor uses RF-capable humidity sensors to wirelessly transmit environmental data from dry storage areas to a central receiver, with no cables to run. Each sensor transmits at a user-defined preset interval, and a single receiver can accommodate multiple sensor transmitters throughout a facility.

The system provides continuous, passive monitoring of dry cabinets, dry rooms, and storage areas, alerting personnel when humidity rises above acceptable levels before MSD floor life is affected.

  • RF wireless with up to 150 feet line-of-sight range
  • Preset transmission intervals avoid continuous power drain
  • One receiver supports multiple sensor transmitters
  • Monitors dry cabinets, dry rooms, and storage areas
  • Alerts when humidity exceeds acceptable thresholds

Frequently Asked Questions

Does HumiTel control humidity?

No. HumiTel tracks, monitors, and reports Moisture-Sensitive Device floor life and environmental conditions; it does not itself control humidity.

Is HumiTel J-STD-033B compliant?

Yes. HumiTel enforces floor-life timers, bake calculations, and storage rules automatically in compliance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.

How much data does the MSD Shipping Monitor record?

Its internal data logger holds up to 20,000 data points at a user-defined interval, providing a full humidity and temperature history for a shipment.

What is the range of the wireless Dry Environment Monitor?

The RF sensors transmit up to 150 feet line-of-sight to a central receiver, and one receiver supports multiple sensor transmitters.
